Step #1
Choose herbs you love to cook with. I decided on, oregano, three different types of basil, chives, parsley and rosemary. (Watch the rosemary, as it can get big pretty fast!)

Step #2:
I found an herb pot that is 18 inches in diameter and 8 inches deep. The bottom tray should be slightly larger in diameter. Make sure the wok pot has a drain hole. Cover the drain hole with a piece of shade screen. Coffee filters work too, but they can disintegrate over time.
Step #3
Fill the wok pot with some nice, rich potting soil and then begin placing your herbs in the pot, starting in the middle. Dig a hole in the soil large enough to cover the entire root, and then pat down the soil gently around the base of the herb. Plant about two inches apart to give the herbs space to grow. (I added some dwarf yellow flowers in my wok pot just for color!)

Step #4 Once your herbs are planted, fill the drainage tray at the bottom with water and let it wick up the herb pot. After that, gently water the herbs from the top.

Step #5
Herbs love sun, but not too much! Early morning sun is perfect. They like to stay pretty moist, so water often. Just don’t let the herb pot sit in standing water from the drainage tray. Remember to keep your herb garden pinched back and use them often!

Stay tuned for great recipes using your new herbs! If you have any great recipes that use a lot of herb, send them to us! We just might feature them right here! Click here to submit...
